| About this software |
| You can use the MCP-1A to create data such as memory channels and menus on a PC by connecting the TH-K2/K4, TM-271/471/281/481 to the PC by using an optional Programming Cable PG-4Y / KPG-22U (for the TH-K2/K4) or KPG-46A / KPG-46U (for the TM-271/471/281/481). |

Ask your dealer about purchasing the Programming Cables. |

A Virtual COM port driver needs to be installed onto the PC to use the KPG-22U / KPG-46U programming cables. |

| Attention |

Before starting to edit the data in the MCP-1A, you must first "Read" data from the transceiver. (The MCP-1A must recognise the exact model type of the transceiver.) Writing data to the transceiver without reading the transceiver's exact model type, may result an error. |
|
Set Menu 31 of the TH-K2/K4 to "PC ON" before connecting it to a PC. |
|
Turn the transceiver OFF before connecting it to a PC. |

Users are required to obtain an approval from JVC KENWOOD Corporation, in writing, prior to redistributing this software on a personal web page or packet radio. |

| Installing the MCP-1A |
Extract the downloaded file "M1A311.zip" into a designated folder.
In the designated folder, a folder labeled "M1A311" will be created.
Execute the "setup.exe" in the folder labeled "M1A311", and follow the instructions that appear on the display to install MCP-1A. |
Notes:
|
The MCP-1A does not operate properly when selecting other models; you must select the correct model. |
|
If you select a different model by mistake, re-install the MCP-1A. |
|
Administrator privileges are required when installing the MCP-1A. |

| Uninstalling the MCP-1A |
| Select "MCP-1A" in "Uninstall a program" ("Add or Remove Programs" for Windows® XP) in the Control Panel and follow the instructions that appear on the display to uninstall the software. Or double-click "setup.exe", and follow the instructions that appear on the display to uninstall the software. |
|
Created files using the MCP-1A are not deleted by uninstalling the software; you must manually delete any files that you created. |
|
Administrative privileges are required to uninstall the MCP-1A. |
|
Always exit the MCP-1A before uninstalling the software. |
